One of the highlights on the KwaZulu-Natal calendar, the Nedbank Eston Show, takes place at the Beaumont Eston Farmers’ Club on Saturday 26th, and Sunday 27th August 2023.
This action-packed weekend kicks off at 18:00 on Friday evening with a cheese and wine tasting. Guests will be guided through an exploration of fine wines by Brad O’Neill from Sugar Baron, professionally paired with a selection of delectable cheeses by Cindy Kidger from Bush Hill Cheese. Tickets are R300 each and booking is essential.
Key events are the Roof of Eston off-road motorcycle race, the tug-of-war competition and the Eston Family Fashion Show on Saturday, the KwaZulu-Natal Trail Run through Tala Game Reserve on Sunday and the SA National Champs clay shooting competition on both days.
Also on offer is a showcase of many local artisans and creators, delicious food, drinks, live music, a children’s play zone and demos throughout the weekend. This year also sees the introduction of ‘Art at the Show’, featuring kids’ and teens’ art workshops and a live paint-off on Sunday. And, as always, there’s an option to camp out for the weekend, which is great fun for the kids.
Eston Show Chairman, Jenna Higgs says that the event is a show for everyone – family and farmers alike. ‘One of the oldest agricultural shows in KwaZulu-Natal, which is celebrating its 69th year, the Nedbank Eston Show is a place where families can come for the weekend and enjoy what’s on offer while contributing to fundraising for the various stakeholders in our district, on which they rely heavily. A big thanks goes to Nedbank for once again being one of our title sponsors and for always going above and beyond to become an essential part of the show over the years.’
Stuart Duggan, Nedbank’s Regional Agricultural Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, says that Nedbank is always proud to partner with the Beaumont Eston Farmers’ Association to sponsor the show. ‘The show, which we have sponsored for well over a decade, provides us with a fantastic opportunity to not only interact with farmers on a personal level, but to also demonstrate our commitment to the wider agricultural community in KwaZulu-Natal.’
So, diarise these dates and visit The Eston Show for a weekend of great family-friendly outdoor fun. Entrance is R50 for adults, R30 for kids from 12 years old and free for those younger than 12. All participants in the off-road motorbike race and trail run get complimentary entry into the show.
